New Leaching Tanks Commissioned at Vatukoula Gold Mine Tailings Treatment Plant Upgrade Project

As part of ongoing efforts to optimize processing techniques and improve resource recovery, the VGML has been driving forward the equipment upgrade phase of its tailings treatment plant expansion. After intensive installation and commissioning work, three new leaching tanks were officially brought into operation on July 30.

The addition of these three tanks provides an extra 2,100 m³ of effective leaching volume and extends leaching time by approximately 15 hours — a major boost to the plant's cyanide leaching recovery rates. After nearly half a month of trial runs and process adjustments, the equipment is now operating smoothly and performing to expectations, fully meeting project targets and laying a solid foundation for the mine's future stable, high-output production and ongoing efficiency gains.
