Expanding Ore Sources, Optimizing Output, Tackling Tough Challenges – Zhaojin Gold's Visit to Vatukoula Gold Mines in Fiji Charts the Way Forward

2026-04-18

During the visit, Tang Lei and his team toured exploration areas, underground operations, surface production facilities, and active construction sites. They also inspected exploration license areas on the northern part of the island, closely reviewing production performance, technical upgrade progress, and exploration drilling — gaining a full understanding of how the mine is actually running.

At a strategy meeting, Tang Lei praised the progress Vatukoula Gold Mines has made over the past year and sincerely thanked the entire workforce for their dedication and teamwork. He then laid out specific requirements for the road ahead:

Speed up the conversion of resource reserves and push exploration forward. Carefully assess available resources, boost production capacity, and keep annual targets on track.

Fully optimize the production system — upgrade equipment maintenance, improve ventilation and cooling, and strengthen power supply reliability. Scale up the use of new technologies, processes, equipment, and materials. At the same time, focus on raising gold recovery rates while strictly controlling ore dilution and loss.

Tang Lei stressed that all managers and staff must rise to the challenge, tackle difficulties head-on, see bigger, and deepen foothold in Fiji — striving to build an enterprise that delivers for the government, local communities, employees, and shareholders alike. He also called on everyone to pull together, take initiative, and do their part to drive high-quality development at Vatukoula Gold Mines.
