Vatukoula Gold Mines Conducts Special Site Survey for Surface Water Hazard Control During Flood Season to Strengthen Mine Safety Defenses

2026-08-04

The inspection team conducted onsite verifications at key waterhazard points, drainage systems, waterprone catchment areas, lowlying sections, and other critical locations throughout the mining area. They carried out detailed checks on drainage conditions and various hidden weaknesses, thoroughly assessing the current state of surface water hazard control and existing problems. Taking into account the mine's topographical features and historical flood season data, the team made onthespot arrangements for water hazard remediation, drainage facility repairs, and rectification of hazard points, specifying clear division of responsibilities, rectification standards, and completion deadlines. All departments were required to remain vigilant about floodseason risks and to carry out ongoing hazard inspections and remediation on a regular basis.

This proactive planning and deployment has further consolidated the mine's floodseason safety foundation, providing strong support for ensuring safe and stable mine operations during the rainy season and maintaining a consistently safe production environment.
