Fiji Vatukoula Gold Mines Holds Safety Meeting to Act on Group's Rectification Drive and Strengthen Safety
At the meeting, Safety Director Cong Zhaopeng first led attendees through an in-depth review of the Zhaojin Group notice. He urged all personnel to thoroughly understand and accurately apply the standards set out in the special rectification, develop practical action plans tailored to the actual operating conditions of Vatukoula Gold Mines, carry out comprehensive, full-coverage hazard inspections, strictly enforce closed-loop hazard management and the "Five Requirements" for rectification, and take firm steps to prevent and resolve major safety risks.
The meeting also reported on progress made in implementing the dual prevention mechanism at Vatukoula Gold Mines. The team reviewed what had been achieved in mechanism roll-out, risk control, and hazard management, while honestly identifying shortcomings in areas such as on-site management and record-keeping. This confirmed that the dual prevention mechanism has now been initially established at the mine. Participants engaged in discussions on corrective actions, clarified responsibilities and deadlines for each task, further strengthened site-wide safety accountability, continued to refine the safety control system, and held the line on safety production at Vatukoula Gold Mines.
The safety meeting helped further align thinking and understanding, laying a solid foundation for effective implementation of the special rectification campaign and improving the mine's inherent safety performance.
