Unity Through Volleyball – Vatukoula Gold Mines 2026 Staff Tournament Wraps Up

This year's tournament brought together 11 teams, drawing enthusiastic participation from both Chinese and Fijian staff. In a bid to strengthen community ties, the event also featured invitational teams from the local police station and hospital, fostering closer cooperation between the mine and its neighboring institutions.

The competition was nothing short of spectacular. Every team played with passion and precision, treating spectators to an impressive display of accurate sets, diving saves, and thunderous spikes. Each match was fiercely fought, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats.

The tournament's highlight came when Mining Department One and Mining Department Two, both powerhouses throughout the competition, advanced to the final. The championship match drew a packed house, with a strong turnout of Chinese staff cheering from the sidelines. In the end, Mining Department One's solid technique and composure under pressure earned them the coveted title.

Following the final whistle, management presented awards to the winning teams on the spot. The tournament concluded with all players and staff gathering for a group photo, capturing the spirit of friendly rivalry and unity that defined the event.
